"On April 16, 7 of us set out on the Grand Canyon tour with JR. As we were winding through the beautiful scenery on the way to Williams to meet the train, Wes became quite ill; passed out then threw up. JR stopped as soon as it was safe. Luckily in our group we had a Doctor, Nurse and Paramedic who carries a backpack with medical instruments. They took his vital signs and finally said he had stabilized so we went to Williams. Wes was very weak. The men managed to get him to a bench where he passed out again then threw up all over his pants. 911 was called. I convinced my relatives who are from LA and TX to get on the train to continue the tour and JR stayed with me. The ambulance came, took all his vital signs again and determined it was a combination of altitude, vertigo and the winding roads so I decided not to bring him to the hospital. JR was in contact with the owner of the tour company who was apparently 30 minutes from Williams. He said Paul [the tour owner] could drive us back to Sedona to our hotel! What a relief! While we were waiting for Paul I asked the paramedics if I could use the ambulance to clean up Wes since his pants were totally soiled. He had a bathing suit in his backpack, so I took off the pants, rolled them in a nice bundle and wrapped them in a blanket before putting them in the trash can in the ambulance. Paul, JR and the paramedics managed to get Wes in Paul’s van, made a nice bed on the seat and we were on our way to Sedona! About 5 miles later Wes came to life and informed us that the keys to our car were in the pants that I threw away! Paul went into action, turned around, went back to the train station where JR had searched through all the trash cans to no avail. Paul called 911 to find out which ambulance had been to the train station. After 4 calls, he finally connected with the ambulance. Paul drove to where the ambulance was, retrieved the keys then drove us to Sedona. When we arrived at the hotel he helped Wes into our room and put him in bed. All of this was so far above the call of duty. If Paul runs his tours like he treated us, I would highly recommend everyone take their tours. Oh, the 5 who went on the tour said it was terrific and JR was the most knowledgeable tour guide. "An utterly wow moment!

 This is was an amazing trip to monument valley. I was lost for words at the vastness and beauty of the whole valley. No photos can do it justice. A breathtaking experience I shall never forget. My tour guide JR was the perfect guide, he knew so much of the history and the geology of the trip towards the valley it was outstanding. Jr was very into the movie stuff which was right up my street, so I loved that. Going to the reservation was educational and so interesting as I didn’t know much of the history being from England. We actually did 2 Tours, the Grand Canyon Complete and the Sedona Tour and both of our guides were amazing. We had J.R. and Bob, both were top notch, very easy going and very personable. They were on time for the pick ups and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and would point out other things as we were on the tour.
