ABOUT THIS TOUR
You will learn all about the fascinating culture of the Navajo people and explore the iconic landscape that made Monument Valley famous. The day begins with a drive up scenic Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona departures only) and views of Arizona’s highest mountains, the San Francisco Peaks. Next travel across the vast Navajo Nation as your guide shares information about the Navajo people and their land. A brief stop will be made at historic Cameron Trading Post with its wide variety of souvenirs and Native American arts and crafts. The journey continues with views of the Painted Desert cliffs on the way to Monument Valley.
Visit historic Goulding’s Lodge & Trading Post overlooking Monument Valley. Afterwards, you’ll explore the famous 17-mile drive for up close views of Monument Valley’s iconic rock formations and buttes including John Ford Point. Your Native American guide will share stories about Navajo culture and the history of how Hollywood came to the area to film many classic Westerns and more recent movies. The photo opportunities are endless and amazing! You’ll return to your hotel early to mid-evening after a spectacular day.
